Our Programs
Each program assists each child to build and develop at their own individual rate with guidance and support of all educators. Our Academy uses a set of high-quality, research-based early learning standards for children 6 weeks to age five called the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS). The GELDS promote quality learning experiences for children and address the question, "What should children from birth to age five know and be able to do?” They are a set of appropriate, attainable standards that are flexible enough to support children’s individual rates of development, approaches to learning, and cultural context. The GELDS are a continuum of skills, behaviors, and concepts that children develop throughout this time of life.
Infants (6 weeks - 12 months)
Infants need safe spaces to grow and learn, at home and away from home. When your infant is in our care, we are committed to providing a nurturing and caring environment that meets your needs and the needs of your child.
Our program is designed to nurture your infant’s development. We provide each infant with a sense of love and care by holding (during feeding and throughout the day), changing and playing. We make certain that each child receives adequate rest. We encourage them to explore movement by rolling, crawling and walking.
Young Toddlers (12 months - 24 months)
Young toddlers are curious experimenters who would want to try different skills at the same time. Activities for these learners are centered on the development of their cognitive, physical, and self-help skills, and are thus experiential and kinesthetic. Some of the common activities are the following: laughing, singing, dancing, and a lot of playing.
Toddlers (24 months - 36 months)
Toddlers want to go everywhere and do everything. So our highly trained teachers take great care to create a well-charted toddler territory geared for exploration, excitement, and exercise.
In a safe, organized environment, toddlers are given a variety of choices for learning experiences that help develop their brain, personality, behavior, and health. Your little adventurer will find his voice, make new friends and develop confidence in new-found abilities. We build brain power through creative games and colorful stories, while helping your child acclimate to a more routine or structured setting.
Pre-School (36 months - 60 months)
Preschool kids are in the process of becoming confident learners. They recognize their own name and other letters in print, show a genuine interest in reading books with an adult and recall events from previous activities.
Our preschool classroom is designed to prepare preschoolers for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten. Children in the preschool class learn through play and exploration. The daily schedule consists of a balance of child-directed and teacher-led activities to help children learn and develop.
School-Age (6-12 years)
As children get older and more independent, they need new challenges. That’s why we offer a school-age program for before and after school care and enrichment programs that address the changing and more varied needs of growing school-age children. Reading, math, and science activities ensure that your child's mind is engaged and help create a lifelong love of learning and exploration.
Before and After School
Our Before and After program offers opportunities for active and quiet play, arts and crafts, games, outdoor recreation and special projects. Additionally, a quiet area will be provided for children who need to work on homework or prefer quiet reading. Snacks will be provided for all students upon arrival from school.
Summer Program
At Buford Children’s Academy’s Summer Land program, your child will be provided with exciting opportunities to learn--all summer long. All of our summer campers will receive a drawstring backpack filled with a t-shirt and other goodies!
Our teachers are passionate about what they do and the students that they work with. Because we are a family-owned and operated learning center, it is our goal to offer low student-to-teacher ratios and provide each child with individualized care specifically designed to meet their needs. Each week we will extend learning and play beyond the classroom with amazing field trips to exciting local venues.
Ask us for a summer calendar and register today to make sure you don’t miss out on all that our Summer Land program has to offer!
